Recommendation

I recommend using an online advertising methodology for the promotion of Net Neutrality awareness.

The first step of this approach will be to go to Change.org and register for petitions to help with the bill. When creating the petitions, be sure to include a sample script for a call, email, or letter to their representatives, as well as a link to where the readers can find out their representative’s information.
The next step is to begin advertising with Facebook and Google's Adsense programs.

The options I provided earlier included:

Real Life advertising, which includes newspapers, and television ads.

  • I chose to toss out real life advertising because with newspaper circulation dropping, and the fact that many people I have talked to leave the room when ads come on, this just seems like to ineffective a method. Not to mention how much trash handing out fliers has produced in the past. It also is very expensive to reach a whole audience through these mediums. The biggest problem is that it doesn’t neccesarily target those who are endangered by the issues.

Online Advertising, which includes online ads, and online petitions.

  • I chose to recommend this method because it targets the specific audience that would be endangered by the loss of Net Neutrality. It produces little to no waste, so it is a much more green option. This method is the most cost effective method because the online petitions are free to make, and the advertising method is that you pay for every person that uses the ad to go to your website. If you don’t hook a potential supporter, you don’t pay.
